Aw mom my hair is a mess, don't take my picture now! It's a tradition to clean the graves of our ancestors on memorial day. It is a lot of fun and everyone generally gets involved. It is getting a little harder now that there are so many of us.
As you can see we look like quite the crowd.

This truely is a wonderful tradition. How did it get started? I think I would like to start this with my family. What a way to teach them the true meaning of such a seemingly forgotten holiday.
Miss doing this... We went to the local grave yard here in Evanston but didn't get out and clean any because they all looked fine... But at least I was thinking about the old family tradition... Hard when there is no family graves around.
What a neat tradition. You do look like quite the crowd of cleaners! I bet your children will appreicate this tradition as they grow up! So fun! Wish we could have been there! And thank you for not having as many posts as Ingela for me to catch up on:)
