Halloween fun

I love carving pumpkins especially since the boys draw their own patterns and cut them out. They are each so different. Alaina wasn't really in to cleaning hers out but she was very interested in what I was doing to her pumpkin I had to get her approval with everything. When it was done and I put the light in it she said, "scary mom scary."

Each of the kids are standing behind the pumpkin they designed and carved.

This is what they looked like lit up.

Here we all are, minus Todd who was at work, in our costumes. This was the day before halloween at mom's party.

Here is Dallin in his costume. He loves capes and had me spray paint his hair black.

Halloween costumes continued

Alaina was a scarecrow this year. She loved it, especially getting candy.

Gavin was a scary Ninja.

Hunter was a warewolf. He came up with the costume himself. Pretty clever.

Mason was phantom.

Aiden was a different kind of scary ninja.

Grandma Hogman's Halloween Party

Mom had a lot of fun different activities to do this year. The older boys competed in a dart game, there was eating doughnuts off of a string, painting pumpkins, bobbing for apples, pie eating contest, finding things with a bag over your head on the lawn, searching for worms and grapes in speghetti while blindfolded, dropping candy corn into a cup, and last but not least the the mummy wrap.

I can't remember who won, I know it wasn't me.

Aiden and Kai competing in the bob for apple game.

Alaina in her first bob for apples experience. I thought she did pretty good.

With the economy the way it is and money getting tight it's nice to know our men aren't too proud to do what they must to provide for their families.

Today's dumpster diving yielded 1 gallon of apple cider and two pumpkins.

Actually the dumpster diving was spurred on by the fact that on halloween Goran threw away his fermented apple juice which Todd thought would be perfect to shoot and watch explode. While they were looking for apple juice they discovered the pumpkins which would also make for a great target.

For Kristoffers birthday we said we would take him up to shoot some of Todd's guns. Andreas also came up to shoot. Ingela got to shoot her black powder pistol for the first time as well. We spent about three hours up there and had a lot of fun.

If you have never shot black powder guns you should give it a try it's a blast! I prefer black powder pistols of course. You can't really see the smoke in this picture but in case your wondering that is what we are blowing.
